Dolomiti Medical MPL-20, is able to produce surgical masks up to 4 layers in large series, up to 7000 units per hour.

A project that was created to meet the needs of our customers to use a machine capable of producing low-cost surgical masks. In line with recent ordinances in terms of limiting costs, and which guarantees ease of use and reliability.

Dolomiti Medical has decided to accept the challenge of committing its resources to solving the mask manufacturing problem in Europe, at competitive prices and very fast delivery times.

The demand for protective masks suffered a sudden and uncontrolled peak due to the COVID-19 emergency. To this, import difficulties have been added due to dubious certifications from non-EEC producers and state-controlled costs.

We therefore believe that the solution to current and future questions is to encourage European production by offering the appropriate technology, to face an intense, efficient production process, to guarantee the supply of certified and very low cost protection devices to the population.

The requests for a full-blown epidemic speak of an average monthly requirement, for the Italian population, of 30 million pieces.

The car

The Dolomiti Medical DML-30 production machine is specifically designed for the mass production of multilayer surgical masks, as per the specifications of the UNI EN 14683: 2019 standard.

The machine produces multilayer masks with the best features available on the market today. It can couple up to four layers of non-woven fabric, fold the major edges, and weld them in ultrasound for a perfect seal. Inserts a metal, plasto-metallic or malleable plastic tongue for shaping the nasal edge, centering it with sub-millimeter precision. It creates the preferred shaping folds, blocking them laterally with the addition of a sealing tape that also blocks the elastic rings for better comfort.

Dolomiti Medical DML-30 has a modular structure and can be composed as required by the customer, favoring production efficiency, economy, and / or total automation of the production process.

Power module

It includes the loading mechanisms of the fabric raw material and metal strip, the fabric tensioning automatisms to ensure a fold-free feeding to the next module and the micrometric adjustment for absolute and relative lateral alignment of the fabrics used.ati.

Forming form

Pair the fabrics, fold the long edges, create the forming folds and ultrasound weld all four sides of the template. It then separates the templates into individual units and sends them to the next module.

Snap rings module

Snap rings are made and welded here. These are positioned within the perimeter of the template, ensuring subsequent easy packaging unlike models with external rings.i).
In the same module a sealing tape is welded on the vertical edges of the mask to further lock the rings and increase comfort.

Electronic control

The machine is completely enslaved by an electronic control based on European production standard PLC. The Ethernet connection with a dedicated PC allows the adjustment of all parameters. The analysis and remote control software with Industry 4.0 features is optionally available.”.
